DIAGNOSTIC FEATURES: Very small thallus size; marginal apothecia often dominating thallus; margins toothed and irregular; NIS; on pine trees; compare with Tuckermannopsis sepincola which has lobes crowded, margins wavy but little dissected or toothed; not recorded from Ohio.
ECOLOGY: Reported as common in the eastern US; records from seven Ohio counties; on bark exclusively, usually Virginia pine twigs.
