Hidden goldspeck lichen, Candelariella aurella, is described by Brodo et. al in Lichens of North America (2001, Yale University Press) as occurring ”On exposed calcareous rock or dust-impregnated wood or bark in areas with lime-rich soil. COMMENTS: This is the most common of the goldspeck lichens on calcareous rock.”
