Canoparmelia crozalsiana
DIAGNOSTIC FEATURES: Patterned ridging; soredia powdery; medulla K+ yellow; compare with Myelochroa aurulenta, ciliate, pale-yellow medulla, K- and with Parmelia sulcata, rhizines squarrosely branched, K+ red.
ECOLOGY: A southeastern US species which grows exclusively on bark; scattered in Ohio but fairly common in the southern counties.
