How to recognize Bryum capillareWhen dry this moss’s leaves are often sprirally twisted. When wet the 1.5-3 mm leaves are rosulate, and the abruptly formed awns can be seen with careful observation. Under the microscope the ovate leaves have an obvious margin of linear cells. The stems at the base of the cluster of plants have many reddish brown rhizoids
