DIAGNOSTIC FEATURES: NIS; rugose center; yellowish medulla; medulla KC-; compare with Hypotrachyna livida, no cilia, dichotomously branched rhizines, medulla KC+ red.
ECOLOGY: Common in the eastern US; widespread in Ohio, more common in the southern counties; on bark and old wood almost exclusively.
